This is my sweet kitty Sway-Girl. She has an extreme case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia and will never actually walk. Although she does half run, half flop at feeding time. This is her at 10 weeks old in January 2009. I took her into a spare room so she wouldn't bang into things as she flopped around. She hasn't improved any. She's a happy, spoiled, loved kitty that even my husband loves (and he hates all of our animals) HA HA HA!! Sucks to be him.

  • wait she's dead? put to sleep or illness?

  • @ACDC392333 We had her euthanized. Not because of the CH. Her awkward position caused her to have anal prolapse. The fix was not guaranteed and it would have meant repeated trips to the vet for a new purse string suture every month or so. Very stressful painful for her. My family and I decided it wouldn't be fair to her.

  • It was WONDERFUL that you were willing to take this little kitten into your care and even though she lived a short life from what I understand, I am positive it was a good one. Most people won't even be willing to take care of a kitten like this. She is in Kitty Heaven now and you know what SHE IS ABLE TO WALK and be a normal kitten!! She is probably running around chasing the other cats and wanting to play and driving the older ones crazy. HAHA!! But I know she was greatly loved.God Bless you

  • @sisofaMarine11 Thanks :)

  • @emogirl1234ist It has a disorder. The kitten is in no pain, and picking it up to carry it everywhere will lead to a severe dependency on the owner for the cat to get around. Letting the kitten figure out how to get about on its own is essential. The cat feels no pain, it just takes longer to learn how to do things their own way.

  • I have a beautiful CH cat thats over 3 years old. Shes a bottle baby that I raised from 2 weeks old. She has her problems but shes such a joy to have and love. CH cats make great pets if its not severe because its nonprogressive. They just take a little more work, patience and understanding!

  • Somebody get the kitten some milk!

  • dont worry kitty that happend to me

  • My kitty has this too. His was even worse than that when I got him at 8wks. He's finally at the point where he can "walk" very awkwardly. I hope he continues to get better. He is such an essential part of my family.

  • @santyke We had Sway euthanized. Not because of the CH... Sway functioned and managed just fine with the CH. This is all she ever knew. It would be like us wanting to euthanize a seal because they have neither paws nor hands and we felt sorry for them. Sway had another issue that would have been a painful fix and wasn't guaranteed to work. We didn't want to put her through that.
