In August 2010, Illamasqua and the lovely Vicky McClure - star of this years hit British TV series This Is England 86 - collaborated for three films.

The first film unravels the multi layered heritage tapestry of Illamasqua; the 1920s Berlin influence, the story of Kryolan and the influencing factors of sub cultures.

'Poem' is the second, a beautifully poignant script by Strategic Marketing Agency, Propaganda, in which Vicky transforms into her alter ego through the application of Illamasqua make-up.

'Vicky & Vic' is a brief, humorous 'interview' of the day time Vicky in discussion with her night-time alter ego Vic.

'When Julian Kynaston approached me to work with the brand, it was something new; I had never done this kind of work before. What I love about Illamasqua is that there is a bigger story and a bigger attraction. Their affiliation with the S.O.P.H.I.E charity means there is an emotional connection. This is a story that needs to be heard. On set I was impressed at how easy Spob [Illamasqua's Head of Professional Development and leading Film and TV make-up artist] was able to transform me into the various alter egos. Each look helped me get into character. I was amazed by the products staying power, how easy they were to apply, how the colours are so vibrant and I love the packaging. I hope Illamasqua gets the attention it deserves.'

  • you spelled her last name wrong in the title! two "c's", vicky McClure, not McLure.

  • Good Lordy lord that Vicky McLure is one stunning woman. Amazing actress and striking beauty.

  • @wolffenhaus I hope you find success elsewhere.

  • @hunnedfourthstreet Yes. I was told that as a new company starting out, they had very few staff and were finding it difficult to read through all the CV's they received - understandable. However, I sent mine before the advertisement was issued for vacancies in my area - thus, technically, you would assume it would have been one of the first in the queue. After my third e-mail I received no reply; despite it being sent to the same lady. Almost a year on methinks that is time enough.

  • The black streak across the face is a hommage to one of the Replicant girls in Blade Runner - only, here it's done badly. And this problem applies to each and every single one of their videos I've seen. They start off so interestingly, and then all results look poorly. I was interested in the beginning, but meanwhile, I think they are just trying to exploit a niche, and they are doing so poorly. Sorry to say.

  • I love the Vic look.

  • @Xanthiaxx did you contact again after your first attempt?

  • @Xanthiaxx sorry about your disappointment-they didn't hire me either-their loss.

  • I applied for a job with Illamasqua over 10 months ago as I believed in their work ethic and passion for "alternative" make-up. I was promised that someone would get back to me having been asked to apply by the assistant manager of my local store. Almost a year later I only know that my CV has been received. I was hoping for at least a "sorry, you didn't make the short-list". Will always love the products but have to say I am somewhat disappointed.
