Here we use a digital decibel sound meter to test the VRocker Pads vs. the standard Rock Band drum pad. We used the standard Rock Band Drumsticks that were provided with the game. We did our best to take even strikes with the sticks on each pad to minimize any variability due to human error. The decibel meter was placed directly center between the two pads. The decibel meter was set to record and hold the highest detected sound. As the we turn on the meter, you'll notice that the dB starts at around 48.6 dB. This reading is pretty much any ambient noise in the room. This video resulted in the VRocker pads with a high reading at 65.3 dB and the standard Rock Band pads high reading at 80.3 dB. We performed this test 10 times with consistent results. The high/low dB range we got from the VRocker pads was 64.2-68 dB. The high/low dB range we got from the standard Rock Band pads was 79-83.5. We chose this clip because it represented the most average reading between the two drum pads. Our decibel reference data was taken directly from the internet from various sources such as Wikipedia. This demonstration was only to show the difference in sound projection of the VRocker pads vs the standard Rock Band Drums. Previous videos that we posted, it was difficult to determine exactly the difference in sound projection. We will have to retract the statement that the pads reduced sound by half. They do not reduce the sound projected by half but relative to decibel levels of normal environmental sounds, we are more than pleased with the final results. Thanks for watching.
VRocker Pads are accessory upgrade for your existing Rock Band Drum Controller. VRocker Pads are compatible with Xbox 360, PS3, and PS2 Rock Band Drum Controllers. VRocker Pads lessen the drum feedback so you can hear the song track, vocals, and the guitar solos while keeping your neighbors and family members happy. VRocker Pads also upgrade your Rock Band drums controller to a more professional look and feel.
