I started asking his pediatrician if it was autism when he was 9 months old, (1983)rocking so hard he's bounce off the back of the sofa... he'd rock the screws loose on his crib... daily due to his forceful rocking... I was told for years he was not autistic. I had to wing it... not help on how to deal... He was finally diagnosed at age 21. Then I found the books I needed in 1983... Somehow by the grace of God... I did things the book said I should...

My Son, Joel is High functioning Autistic. He was not diagnosed until age 21. He is 28 yrs old now. (2011)He graduated ITT Sept 2010 with his Associate Degree... 4.0 perfect attendance, Highest honors, student of the quarter... he took EVERY award they offer. He has returned to ITT for his Bachelors. He is still maintaining 4.0 and perfect attendance.
THERE IS HOPE ! ! !
