This is the infamous episode where two women "take advantage" of Monroe.
Although it was produced during the fourth season, it did not air until the middle of the fifth season, on 7/20/85, reportedly because Ted Knight was not comfortable with the subject matter.

@flyguy773 pretty close! The brunette was 29 and the blonde 28 at the time of this episode. Back then they were more than likely considered to look younger than their actually age. I bet 30 yrs from now someone will be watching a rerun of some show like Gossip Girl and think they look 40.

@JENDALL714 I think your probably right. The Monroe character was also not openly gay. And like you said the audience wouldn't have believed it. And chances are it never even crossed the writers minds to make the rapists two gay men. And with it being early 80's television if it did I'm sure that idea was quickly shot down.

@PatrickLHawkins well, I think the writers used straight women because Monroe getting raped in San Francisco by gay men would not have created any seriousness to the epsiode, since Monroe was obviously gay himself! The audience would not have believed he was actually "raped'.
