If you muddle the pieces of lime you have to discard the white vein from the middle of the lime because it makes a bitter drink. All this is a matter of how do you like your cocktail. There is no a "perfect" way to do any cocktail.

great but i like my lime wedges and muddles with the sugar and mint....and didnt anybody ever teach u..in an alcoholic beverage always put ice in first...it will save u alcohol and what rum is that
