chain mail was only Design for Slashing & it was the Easiest Armor to make, to be used by the Common person in the Dark Ages

A lot of the strength of chain mail also comes from the thick padding worn underneath. Butted mail was only used in Asian countries, and even then it was used with smaller steel plates overlapping it at areas.
Butted mail was never used in European warfare. It just wouldn't be good. Would nearly every culture that was in touch with chain mail use it for nearly 2000 years if they knew it couldn't stand up to the most basic of weapons?

butted mail was used as well as riveted mail, it had to do with how much money you had to spend

there are some problems with this video: 1 what type of mail is this? , not all mail is the same, I am pretty sure if this was riveted mail it would not be as easy2 what type of idiot goes into battle with just a chain shirt, they wore leather armour or a coat of plate under the mail with a padded coat, sure you can pierce mail, but what about all the layers under the mail3 the weave, not all of the weaves are the same and yes you can buy the pinto of chain as well as the BMW
not quite right

also depends. is that maille butted or riveted? cuz historically they ALWAYS used riveted Maille.
chainmail is used for slash attacks, not stabbing, or pierce. thats what plate is for
