In the novel I'm writing, titled Gods & Gridiron, the XFL survives beyond it's inaugural season when a private equity firm buys it with designs to restore the USFL. After a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from the University of Oklahoma loses a leg in Afghanistan, he manages to rehabilitate enough that the out-of-luck Oklahoma franchise spends a "regional hold" on him in the Spring league's draft.
This video is an experiment in quick cuts between football and combat scenes, as well as a test of the aesthetics of machinima.
Song is "Metalingus" by Alter Bridge, which I use legally with the Youtube Audioswap feature. Combat machinima is from "The Movies", and game footage is from EPSN 2K5 on the PS2 platform. I built a fictional team with the Iron Hammer logo. In the book, they're the Oklahoma Welders.
