Working in conjunction with the Indian government, ASR Ltd completed construction of India's first Multi-Purpose Reef in February, 2010. The primary purpose of the reef is to mitigate coastal erosion from monsoon waves in the small town of Kovalam. The Aritifical Reef also creates an excellent habitat for marine species. Finally, as this video shows, the reef has helped create a great surf spot.

ASR are scammer's and deserve to go bust!!!! This video is false, the peeling left-hand wave shown as their "result" of the reef, is in fact the shore-break wave, just on a better day with a ground swell!!!!!! ASR TAKE MONEY FOR A PRODUCT THAT DOESN'T DELIVER

'300 million pounds'? Is that from the Institute of Made Up Statistics? It was 3 million. And the same company (ASR) designed & built both reefs, along with one in NZ which was also a total failure. They're now in liquidation according to the BBC.

Local conditions. You've got to look at the local surf conditions. Boscombe reef gets low period and local wind swell pretty much all year round when its not flat in summer. It was a bad place to do it.

300 million pounds spent in England on an aritificial reef leads to a total fail. A 3rd world country makes a multi purpose reef. Total success.
