My favourite song of all time, not just 'cos I'm a Jude (judep22) but also 'cos I had a boyfriend call Loz who had a great band and used to play Hey Jude when I arrived at his gigs. He was a fantastic piano player! He could play the piano frontways, backwards and even from on top of the piano! How cool is that! This is a really great video! Enjoy......

Forty-three years after an over-protective Israeli government banned The Beatles from their country, Paul McCartney performed in front of an audience of 45,000 in Tel Aviv, just days before the start of the Jewish new year.
Sir Paul McCartney said he was carrying a message of peace for Israel and Palestine as he toured the West Bank town of Bethlehem ahead of his planned concert in Tel Aviv.
"This candle is for peace for all people all around the world, especially in Israel and Palestine," he said after lighting the taper following a brief moment of contemplation.

The Israeli audience roared its approval as Sir Paul greeted the crowd on Thursday night and wished them a happy new year in Liverpudlian-accented Hebrew: "Shalom Tel Aviv. Shana Tova."

"Hey Jude" is a rock ballad written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney) and recorded by The Beatles on July 26th,1968 at the Trident Studios. Originally titled "Hey Jules," the song was written by McCartney to comfort John Lennon's son Julian during his parents' divorce. "Hey Jude" begins with a verse-bridge structure based around McCartney's vocal performance and piano accompaniment; further details are added as the song progresses to distinguish sections. After the fourth verse, the song shifts to a fade-out coda that lasts for more than four minutes.

"Hey Jude" was released in August 1968 as the first single from The Beatles' record label Apple Records. Over seven minutes in length, "Hey Jude" was at the time the longest single ever to top the British charts.[1] It also spent nine weeks as number one in the United States—the longest run at the top of the American charts for a Beatles single. @Judep22 yes, and peace is on the table. Land for peace never worked before. It has to be just straight up peace without any reason other than just peace. Two peoples coexisting on the land of their forefathers without the world trying to tear them apart with political and religious intifada.

@Judep22 I agree 100%, the problem is that corriculum of a gazan school child includes jihad, holocaust denial, promotion of usage of armed combat, and the teaching that Jews are not human, just apes and pigs. We need to overthrow hamas now and stop the child abuse of the palestinian children. How can we do this without anyone getting hurt? That is the question. Hamas will die, and the Palestinians will live in peace.

@Judep22 unfortunately, the more the palestinians attack Israel, the more likely they are to vote Leiberman, the more likely Palestine will not become a real country, the more likely the arabs are to leave Israel and go back to Jordan. If the palestinians stop launching rockets during this time of calm, there is a chance that for the first time in history, they will have a country (except for the instance of Jordan). Peace = freedom, war = slavery. Peace now.

@historicrecord interesting that the USA sent a ship full of Jews back to Auschwitz because they didn't have the right paperwork to enter USA. All were killed. Then the USA went on to be the heros. I guess things don't always finish the way they start. Long live Israel, long live Israel, long live peace.
