If something terrible happened and all the bars in the world had to close down except one, this is the one that would get my vote. Follow Sixth Street west until you pass under the MoPac, Loop 1 bridges and you will see RunTex to the left. A couple of blocks past that is Deep Eddy, it is pretty much across the street from Magnolia Cafe. I almost killed myself on a Razor Scooter on New Years Day, behind this place, about five or six years ago. I'm lucky I didn't break my damn neck. It seems funny now but when my face smacked into the chainlink fence it wasn't so damn funny. I can tell you that.

I wish that I had all the time and money that I wasted at Deep Eddy. Good Juke Box though.

I spent hundreds maybe thousands of dollars on brewski's here. Photographed all the patrons in group shot, my dog Bucksnort's photo is still on the wall next to the fridge. He's wearing a Deep Eddy hat. Best jukebox in Austin and the both pool tables were actually level but the cues were in bad shape. One day the beer tap broke...free beer..lots of free beer there was! Overall place to take a date? 5 Stars.
