"This is a stop-motion animation illustrating the progression of art over time. I have used a variety of media types, from pencil drawing through to painting, ceramic and Photoshop. I used an egg as a central point, as it symbolises thought, creation and birth, in this case the birth of an idea. I play on the old saying, which came first the chicken or the egg in an attempt to stimulate discussion and to personify the evolution of art history and its ability to 'fly away' into the future.

This was created as my 2010 HSC Visual Art Major Work and was subsequently selected in the Manly 'Express Yourself' Exhibition and ultimately won the 2011 Manly Youth Art Award. I hope you enjoy."
