Really cool video, David.

I'm afraid I never heard this great tune while it was in A-list rotation on radio stations, but in Albuquerque in the 80s, the AOR-ish station I listened to had a daily feature they called "Sixties at six" where they'd play great and (by that time) rather obscure tracks. I lucked out hearing this track and have been a fan of BP ever since then. Thanks for posting and for the great tune.

I bought the vinyl album when it was first released (and I still have it). I bought the CD within the last year--so happy to get it.
There are only a few songs that when I hear them, I am instantly transported to another time long ago--when life was such a Gathering Of Promises. MC5's "Kick Out The Jams" is one. "Hot Smoke and Sassafras" is another. Bubble Puppy was a fantastic band--I regret that I never saw them perform live. This video is great--David, you still rock! Thanks for posting it.

I remembered doing an ad for Kustom amps back in the 60s. I even found the picture of our old band demo'n them on stage.
you sir and your band mates are rock gods in my book! top 10 all time greatest jams of all time! you guys rolled the 60's in to one rock smash. I was 8 in 1969 and talked about this song for years..anyway right on!!

Great job, David. I loved this song when it was out, and it's really nice that you thought of putting this on for us to see you in this format. A little shorter hair than you had then, but that's true for most of who go back to that time. Really enjoyable.

Everyone,
There is a great new book called "House of Hits: the Story of Houston's Gold Star/Sugarhill Recording Studios" that chronicles the Bubble Puppy's recording studio. The 13th Floor Elevators, Lightnin' Hopkins, Beyonce and many others also recorded at Gold Star. If you're a fan of this time, you'll love the book. I even learned things I didn't know about our studio!
