Civics Lesson

A 12-year-old girl apparently violated the Wisconsin Assembly gallery "rules" with her spiral notebook from her Civics class. Her offense: displaying a page (adorned with curlicues) which reads, "FIRST AMENDMENT: FREEDOM OF SPEECH."

The Assembly page forced the notebook into the girl's lap. Her father is understandably outraged and complains to the Assembly Sergeant at Arms.

Maybe the girl should just learn to listen better. Guys just doing his job

The guy didn't have to be such a jerk too. How's the guy supposed to know who the girl's dad is? And he was following a simple direction from his boss and asked her first multiple times to put it down. Guy in the red just wanted a chance on camera to rant in the Capital like everyone else in the last 9 months.

That cocky adolescent is the Seargant-At-Arms? Maybe if they hired post-pubescents to run the place, there's be a bit more sense in the place. Then again, maybe not.

NOTE: if Wisconsin statutes say the punk cannot touch the minor or her property, but if the Assembly rules say it's okay, then it's okay. Maybe minors should pack heat instead, since that's allowed by statute and rules???
