Mayan Sacrifices

This is a very impresive video. Mayans (south east pre-hispanic Mexico) used to make sacrifices to their gods. They used to "offer" the dead to their gods by throwing them to sacrate ponds of fresh water underground (Cenotes). Here some of the immages of such "Cenotes" and the dead that have been there for more than half a millenium.

wouldnt the bodies stagnate the water? i dont think the water was drank but would it not be undiveable? there is a stagnent pond not far from me where bodies were supposedly dumped by the mafia and when you throw a rock in the water or disturb the water a nasty stench comes out of it.

Opino lo mismo , talves no sacrificaban personas, sino mas bien era o tumbas de los nobles como dices o puede ser no se que ahi se ubo librado una batalla y los cuerpos hubieran caido al pozo, hay muchas teorias no entiendo porque siempre quieren ver a los mayas como sacrificadores de humanos o gente violenta si no eran asi.
