this whole senate meeting seemed like a freaking council of doom meeting; first they discuss divying up africa then at the end of they video they go on to say how some members of the senate would like to voice their support for the Guantanamo Bay prison camps not being closed down.

@zweeterion the senator was mostly concerned that the usa did not get enough of a stronghold created in africa like they planned for. That is why is he asked what was being done about funding more military presence in africa. Then he went on to say that its unfortunate that the AFRICOM headquarters was not in africa because of the african citizens not wanting it in africa. The whole conversation, it seemed to me, centered around the progress of the expanding U.S. control of resources in Africa.

For him, it is a crime for the people of Africa to use there governments to resist foreign military occupation. For a old white buffoon like him, It is very easy to forget Slavery, Colonialism, Racism, Apartheid, brutal toppling of democratic governments in Africa during cold war, oppressing civil rights and other Atrocities. Africans did not forget.

Its amazing that the senator inhofe is suddenly "concerned" about issues in Africa.Darfur,where the AU has been pleading for help in terms of choppers,is convinietly snubbed.If Africom is good for Africa,Africans would be begging for it not the US.

Inhofe is a real piece of Republican right wing slime. Even John McCain got disgusted with Inhofe as Inhofe went on one time about how it was the Christian thing to do for the United States to torture people. McCain of course, was tortured by the North Vietnamese and doesn't believe our great nation should torture people, as Inhofe does.  Inhofe, as most politicians do, is only interested in doing or believing in what will get him the most votes.

Inhofe says that he does not think it WOULD be a good idea to close Gitmo.

Obama has managed to fool almost the whole world into thinking that he HAS closed Gitmo without actually doing it.

Thank you Senator for honoring our Constitution and our great Republic, and for standing up to protect our freedoms. Holder is a disgrace for an Atty Gen'l and Geithner is a great excuse now to not pay taxes. Not to mention a great lesson for our children - bad behavior IS rewarded in this world. We are in big trouble. Keep up the fight for what's left of our country.
