i have the V&H shots! AWESOME pipes! all I ever run is V&H on all my bikes! soundbetter than S E! my dad has S E they sound 2 me like the stock! oh yeah passed insp. @ 95DB legal here in NH by far the best!! V&H want a spokesperson??? check out my 98 1200xlc ann .hear the SOUND!!

i just rode my cousin's and he switched from SE to V&H. sounded awesome to me and he said the V&H were much better.

@Knights2theEnd Unfortunately, I can't answer that comparison. I haven't heard the pipes you've mentioned.

how much more powerful is the Screaming Eagle than the Vance and Hines?

Yes, he did a re-jet. My understanding is that any change that increases the flow of exhaust requires a re-jet, otherwise the engine will run too lean, producing extra heat.
