at the time this (and bert jansch) came out, it was considered a variation of "underground" music. I knew 3 people who knew of this and fairport convention and the incredible string band, etc. and i was 1 of those three. everyone else was listening to ironbutterfly

Surely no other group in history has contained four more gifted musicians than Pentangle? Jacquie is great too, but those mouth contortions are very distracting - in a sexy way!

@notmemate What makes music great is the blending of different influences which in turn gives us something new and fresh. If you feel the need to categorize it - then call it folk-jazz :)

Have seen Renbourne a couple times (Iron Horse in MA); he's amazing. And this is my favorite Pentangle song. Great stuff!
