air shifter.

well maybe it's because harley's werne't built for that genius. i mean you have people that fix theirs up like this guy, but harleys are built for cruising. even the v-rod. of course they aren't going to beat a bike that was specifically built for performance in the category performance.

Even the lockup clutch was an MTC custom at that point.....we were still getting it set up. Our little normally aspirated HD did put more than a couple of turbo busas on the trailer. Granted there are much faster bikes out there, and they're getting faster every day, it seems, but in those cases, HD took home the trophies.

I'm the one who was riding the bike. I'll try to answer/address some questions. The MPH on that run was 154.....60' was 1.42......electric over air shifter (button on bars)....1550cc normally aspirated, V&H head and cams....chain was a 530QR.
Those that would critique the performance, please keep in mind that the VRod has only been out for a few years, after being a COMPLETELY new design direction for Harley Davidson...the parts we were using were all pretty much "one off" custom units....

@FightTheSystem1492 ...yup yup tell em

@smokinjoe420falife try workin on proper sentences.

@FightTheSystem1492 THANKS, I couldn't have said it better myself.

@LordSamuelJ - Why? A highly modified bike pulling 9's is nothing special today. And yes, a bike with an airshifter IS "highly modified".
LIke to cruise? H-D is probably the epitome. Wanna go fast, buy something else. Simple as that.
-
@MrDEATHKROW - Simply incorrect. Y'all.

i'm guessing the dodge tomahawk would debate for that title
thanks KJ wwe do both. the harley has been so much fun because no one had gone that fast yet, every change we made was the first time it had been done. we used our Prostreet experience in the chassis and some awesome motor builders experience in the motor. has been a blast

you do have to shift.....but it's just hitting a button each time. It can be sfifted by foot and clutch too.
