@apachebutterfly I do not put you down for the "blood that runs through your veins"--or anyone else's veins. I put you down for your attitudes, actions, and the way you believe wrong answers are just as valid as right answers. The movie I was referencing was "Proof of Life", look it up. Latin American savages abduct some American businessman, so she hires a negotiator to get him back, because neither Government will help her.

@apachebutterfly If that is true, why do you keep trying to insult Americans by dredging up the distant past?
You even reacted with indignation when I said "Get Over It".
And yes, Europeans started as tribes...but we evolved out of it...we grew up! What was stopping the Indians?
Everyone is so much better off now, why keep dwelling on past pain?
The desire to relive the past seems a sign of immaturity to me, does it not to you?

@EPGAH You make me laugh Eric, the way you attempt to put me down for the blood that runs through my veins. You nor your descendents are better than me or mine. You too, come from tribal people. As a descendant of the tribes of Europe you have much the same history as I do. Time you showed some maturity by learning you can not ever build yourself up by attempting to tear others down. You only injure yourself.

@apachebutterfly You keep blaming current Americans for past "sins" committed under color of war, so I think it only fair that we take credit for our ancestors' successes, no?
As to the story itself, which lesson? That war and even maltreatment of captives predated the presence of civilization in America, or that the wife would rescue the husband when the WHOLE TRIBE were too chicken to, and not even demand recognition for her part in his continued survival and/or success?
Sounds like a B movie!

The Lakota were the greatest believers in the Doctrine of Might Makes Right, "Anyone who cannot protect their property does not deserve to keep it". They used this Doctrine to justify stealing horses from the American Cavalry, but did not get the irony when we crushed them and took the land and made it part of the arguably greatest nation on Earth!
