New Droid X Screen/Display Problem

7/15/2010 - I bought this Droid X this morning. I've had it all of about 11 hours, when this began. It appears to be a problem with just the screen or graphics subsytem. Interacting with the device seems bring up the expected screens and apps.

Remediation Attempts: I've tried a hard reboot, removing the battery, killing apps and widgets, turned off bluetooth/wifi/geoloc/etc, changing the wallpapers to no effect.

Sleeping the phone by pressing the top button, and letting it sit for a few minutes seems to quell the issue for a couple minutes. Once it's turned back on, the screen begins to flicker again, and eventually you get the nasty lines back. I will take it to back to verizon tomorrow.

And for the record, it hasn't been dropped or abused. It's been in the protected silicone sleeve that I bought with it since this morning. I also got the leather belt clip, it's been sitting in both.

Added: 7/20/2010 - I forgot to mention that I also got one for my wife, and hers is just fine, and she's very happy with it.

@rruready72 So far the Verizon Wireless sales rep and store manager have been pretty good.  They saw it, apologized, and said I'd be first in line to receive a replacement when they arrive tomorrow. I hope they can still honor that. I'll update the video once I get it.

i have this problem but it only does it on the lower 1/4th of the screen, it's weird

My phone also did this.. I found that it happens when my phone is cold.. I can hold a lighter to the screen and it clears up for a few minutes.... needless to say, droids are SHIT!!

Hi! I'm having the same problem, but my phone isn't a droid, it's a china phone... And was buying during a travel, so I don't have how to change it.

Someone knows what is the problem and most important, how to fix this? Or a temporary solution until I have money to buy another?

ive had my droidx since the frst day it came out have had a lot of problems with calls screen,buttons, speaker,camera,etc. until my 2 yr. old bro solved my prombem he put it in soap water.so my dad bought me a new 1. yeeeeeeaaaaahhh!!!!!!!!!!
