  • @reccosevil If your healthcare isnt provided by the state, or your income, or your house, or benefits etc (which they should be or your basically a free loader because government jobs are a joke) , then this tax would be simply to give the government more money... but they are wrong in the first place... what if they tax the hell out of burgers, or soda or they tax marijuana and then just prohibit it? Sin taxes are wrong, government can not mold the societies morals thats why the GOP is dead

  • of course its to raise money because of the effects and consequences it creates.

  • A sin tax is really no different from a tea tax. The government recently passed a value added tax. How do they morally justify taxing the grain that goes into a loaf of bread? The sales taxes which are the highest are pigouvian, because the government makes the case of protecting people from them selves, which seems softer than "we want a larger limosine." Taxes are taxe$.
