3 Dimensional representation of mandala, created by late Pema Lobsang Chogyen of Namgyal monastery. The quality is not so good cos it was transfered from an old VHS.
The journey up the stairways and into the inner sanctuaries is the same as the Shir Ha Ma'alot (song of ascension) and the Hekhaloth, the ascension into the heavenly halls found in the Jewish religious service and early Jewish mysticism. This image of ascension to the throne of God has become a central image of Christian mysticism as well. The Jews took it from the Greeks. Did the Greeks get it from somewhere else?
Thanks so much for posting this. I believe it is the video I accidently ran across some years ago in New York City that accompanied a large sand mandala being displayed to the public. I had never understood that the sand mandalas being made by monks were 2-D representations of 3-D images.
This video is quite good. Good job .. ..

Do you have any sources on this? I find it fascinating.
