Attempts to clean up 400 tonnes of poisonous waste dumped at 11 sites in and around Abidjan, the capital of the Ivory Coast, have failed.

Those who live and work near the dumping grounds are getting seriously ill.

  • I like reporter Haru Mutasa because she is not afraid to face the camera clad in simple clothing and without makeup; unlike other female reporters who look like they spent hours on their hair, makeup, and wardrobe, and thus, look totally out of place when they are out in the field covering a flood disaster in Guatemala or a drug epidemic in Argentina's slums, for instance. If a reporter is so preoccupied with looking good in front of the camera, I already know her report is not going to be good.

  • Many "well to do" nations made promises to assist Africa and have done nothing. Any developing area can use the expertise to show people who to clean up sites such as this.

A local solution can then be found so that toxic dumps can be contained. This should create local employment solving two problems rather than creating a health problem or more.

  • If the continent were so rich, Europeans would have raped the earth to get at it.

You are wrong about the IQ thing also. If whites hadn't developed the tests and theory, it wouldn't have been created. See, people with low IQs don't think about things like high IQs.

I am a realist. If you are a Darwinist, these are the species that can't compete. If you are a deist, then these people are your burden.

  • Ogaga4Luv007, so you were not being crass, you genuinely care - that's good! Peace and Love

  • mmm????

    peac & Love..Ogaga

  • cos you make silly comments like 'ooh, pity,' when you would feel very different if you were in that position...

People just like your friends, mum, family, just as valuable, are dying because assholes think it's more important to make money than anything, and if they can screw you to make a buck - THEY WILL, and it might not be that far off because they are already screwing you, you just haven't figured it out yet.

    Peace and love

  • hi vomitbag, i think you'll find that the african comtinent is richest of all in natural resources such as minerals, oil, gold, diamonds, exotic woods, rich soils, etc. etc.

The IQ testing system is designed by middle class white people for middle class white people, i.e. it's biased.

If your avaerage african bushman designed an IQ test for the lifestyle I am certain you would have a very low IQ, but then it seems you do anyway, judging by the comments you write and the attitudes you have.

  • why do you pity me...really dont understand ***

  • The wealth of their continent?

    Please.

the wealth of their continent is in the bush and comes in the form of tourist dollars from westerners who are intelligent enough to dig a latrine downstream from the well.

Get a grip on reality. The African bushman has an IQ of 70. That's scientific and factual they are just not able to compete with the other races. we need to manage them like wildlife there.

Otherwise they'll move into your dumps.

  • Thank you,

I used to worry that I wouldn't contribute to the world, then the internets offered the forum I needed.

    Up the Irish!

  • I pity you, wait til a multi-national dumps on you and see how you feel...
