Take a one minute ride on a 4-wheel drive Gator, through the woods on a trail that will become the future entryway for the Jacksonville State Univertsity Little River Canyon Center near Fort Payne, Alabama. The ride has a mature hardwood stand to the left (blocking Hwy 35) and a three year clear cut to the right. As the riders enter the construction site, the facility is easily identified by its timber frame construction with a 30' high atrium. Half of the building is framed out with the other half to be completed in late September. The 25,000 sq/ft builing is slated to be opened to the public in January of 2009. It will be a LEED certified building that will include many sustainable, "green" features. Contact 256-782-8010 for more information.
