The 27th-Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, and the California Coastal Commission needs your help to clear the debris from inner waterways and coastlines.
Did you know that 80 percent of the trash that enters the ocean from California comes from land-based sources? This means that recruiting volunteers to clean up local rivers, creeks, roadsides and other inland areas is vital to the success of this annual effort.
