When it comes time to change the mud-----ugggghhhhh. What a mess!!!!

If this guy has to knock other companies, n rip on other peoples tanks which the fish/corals look very healthy n vibrant then this product is not for me...this dbag tries to manipulate and deceive people n it's total bs! I'll go with LS instead. Also, in part 2 he says u have to buy LS when in fact u don't, buying dead sand would work to as it eventually becomes live. Also, u have to replace this every 6 months which is not realistic because when u set up a refugium ur not supposed to disturb it

@tferg3300 i never said substrate( sand) had an impact on clarity i said it had an impact on quality, (meaning nutrients) yes all sand becomes live eventually ( if u have an established aquarium)but do believe me when i say that you will need organisms that are only in living substrate to process the detritus and food left overs(apart from bacteria), remember that all we aquarist are trying to is imitate the natural reef, there for we need living creatures that make the balance in natural reef

@edwin5245 All sand becomes live eventually! lol Replenishing sand has nothing to do with water clarity also! Nutrient export like waterchanges, certain media like carbon, and protein skimmers will have an impact on water clarity NOT sand..

@TheOneAndOnlyProdigy well actually acording to dr Ronald Shimek's the why and hows of substrate you are not supossed to touch your substrate or syphoon it because it will kill the organisms living there and actually helps your nitrification cycle, so i guess it will be better to change the substrate in ur refugium to ensure the cuality of ur water, also living sand and dead sand are NEVER the same, its a lot better to have living sand in ur system as it will boost by far the cycle in ur tank

@jdcremin no shops near me sell miracle mud they tried it too could not see any difference in the fishes health or bright colours they all say its rip off, one shop said who ever buys it is silly, if they they must do then use that at the same time as the other filters have two sumps-reservoirs

@aliasfrankmorgn well i dont see any differece in using miracle mud as my fish corals were the same stunning colour and healthy as miracle mud. plus look at this trickle filters has high air so stronger bacteria and protein skimmer adding oxyegon to water which i found out the water was better and clearer, plus deltecs NFP1020 nitrate did better job, so miracle mud is no better or grater its less grater , its like buying cigarets once used put in bin for very dear money, so leave miracle mud out

@TheOneAndOnlyProdigy i dont use miracle mud, i use a 2500,litre commercial bio trickle tower filter 4,feet tall 8,inch diameter with a 6500,litre ocean runner aqua medic pump connected to the tower, and 6500,litre ocean runner aqua medic pump in the small mini reservoir sending water back to the aquarium and aqua medic twin 5000 protein skimmer and the fish and corals are the same tunning in colour as when onced used miracle mud no difference, so miracle mud is really to me too save electric

Wouldn't you kill most of the pods in your fuge when you changed the mud in 6 months.

This company is selling a product that from actual lab analysis appears as nothing more than silica sand. There is no miracle to it. I also has a HIGH iron content, and a HIGH phosphorous content . Substrate alone will not determine the success or failure of the system, nor will the substrate affect the coloration, health, or other characteristics of the inhabitants.
