During the peace marches and the eventual march to war I pieced some news photos together with the haunting song "Desperado" sung by an 11 year old girl (See Wikipedia: The Langley Schools Music Project). It's all that much more painful to watch now that we have been at war longer that it took to fight World War II.

  • Before everyone is coming down on my case, these pictures are purposely fuzzy. They are off the newswires and have been altered in Photoshop with a dry brush filter to give them a paintlike quality.

  • @slipknotlyrics It was for sale when it first resurfaced, but I passed my CD along eons ago. I looked on YouTube recently, and there is a fountain of video and sound clips of the Langley School Music Project. Try that next. Then look on Amazon for Innocence & Despair (2001) - Audio CD by Langley Schools Music Project

  • Lol, I had to laugh at the start "Bush" lmao.

  • I heard this version of "Desperado" a few years ago on the radio and I've been looking for it ever since. Thank you for posting!

  • I think it's cool, Bush looks like a wax puppet.

  • Actually, the girl who sings is 9 not 11 and it was recorded in 1976. Jim Sheridan (who made "In America" in 2002) heard the girl sing and decided to do such a scene in that movie as a tribute to her.
