Desperado — War and Protests

During the peace marches and the eventual march to war I pieced some news photos together with the haunting song "Desperado" sung by an 11 year old girl (See Wikipedia: The Langley Schools Music Project). It's all that much more painful to watch now that we have been at war longer that it took to fight World War II.

I looked on YouTube recently, and there is a fountain of video and sound clips of the Langley School Music Project. Try that next. Actually, the girl who sings is 9 not 11 and it was recorded in 1976. Jim Sheridan (who made "In America" in 2002) heard the girl sing and decided to do such a scene in that movie as a tribute to her.
