The Spirit Engine 2: Boss 4 - The Crone Returns

As the heroes finally leave the hellish underground city of Underport, they encounter a familiar face they wished they'd never see again.

The second battle with the Crone is quite different from the first. This time she can summon shield orbs that absorb one hit each, shoot a laser that goes through all party members, and throw orbs into the air that land randomly on one of the characters. Her most dangerous attack is the laser. It is a magical attack, so Aurora will protect you from it. Hack and Slay are both important but for different reasons: Hack is great for destroying shield orbs since it hits twice, while Slay offers great damage. My strategy was to use Aurora, Aimed Shot, and either Hack or Slay depending on the state of the shield orbs.

The music that plays during this boss battle is called "Fighting the Inner Mind" and is composed by Josh Whelchel. An interesting note: this is the same theme used for regular battles in a later chapter.
