There's a Cross for Me (Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone) - Erv Lewis

Dear friends, At this time of year let us remember why our Lord came into this world and just how much this salvation we are free to enjoy cost Him. He gave everything and now all He asks of of us in return is everything. Jesus said, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels" (Mark 8:24-28). Dear ones, He has provided a complete and eternal salvation for us all. All that remains is for us to take hold of it: "And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely" (Revelation 22:17).

His sacrifice for you was whole, complete and everlasting--now is the time to give your whole self to Him completely and lastingly. Amen.
