  • It is fantastic to see the enthusiasm with this project but I STRONGLY suggest the roll bar welds are reviewed/corrected by a professional welder.

  • Thanks man. The cage was welded by a guy that has 20 plus years as a cagebuilder. No problems there. Now my welding is another story hahaha!!!

  • Yeah the seam welding is done I just forgot to mention it. As far as th scrubs I just like to wear them in the shop. Charlie North and myself built the cage, he pretty much did all of the hard bends and welding and I fit the straight tubes. Charlie is a master with metal and my fabricating mentor. If I become half as good as him I will be happy.

    Thanks

  • @jacobmn1996 an E-brake mechanically locks up the brakes (usually the rear wheel brakes) in case of normal brake failure to stop the car in an emergency. They can b foot operated but are usually hand operated. Ever hear of drifting?? That's accomplished by manipulating the E-brake & steering to make controlled slides

  • nice concept and ideas. I have done alot of cage work, mainly for SCORE, BITD, and prerunners. I dont know if your using 4130, but you should. as far as the welds, im not here to crit you or your welder, but they really dont look how they should. they look cold, and the inconsistency in the actual "bead" will lead to stress cracks. I dont know what requirements you will need to meet to get the chassis certified, but this is a old post, so my words are just that.

  • I could be wrong, but I thought the rules said that the entire roll cage needs to be contained between the strut mounts. The piece of roll cage tubing between the front strut mount and the skid plate support may be viewed (possibly) as contravening this rule.

  • how does a E brake work

  • @nulla06 Dammit... I do sound like Fluffee hahaha!

  • @verticlehold yea i agree them welds are not looking to good..but cool vid anyway
