This is like the difference between me and my parents. I know they love animals, but for them- cancer or other ailments are a death sentence, and pets are like a hindrance to trips.
They see pets as animals you live with, that are great, but thats it. You don't spend more on them then you paid for.
But to me- *god I'm crying* They're life and death, man. Their everything the universe has to offer.
Their hearts and souls are connected to mine, and I'd go anywhere for them.

Awesome story. The cancer was a blessing in disguise as you two rediscovered what is really important in life through Jerry.

I'm speechless i had the same experience with my Joe. I quit everything for a year to take care of him until his last moment. It's been almost to years since he passed away I still have no clue why should i wake up for. He's not here now. I just don't know what to say for now.My heart is broken.

Animals are OUR healers. They enrich our lives IF WE LISTEN. They know when they are LOVED. Great dog and great people. They will NEVER regret the time they spent with him.

What a great story.
I was kindo expecting a (scientific) investigation into why people love cats and dogs. But this short is beautiful :')

@saibabathakur I have never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent, they don't listen, they don't come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they're home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat

Such an inspiration, wonderful people, wonderful dog-we are wishing you all the very best for the future-and Jerry to have many more happy years ahead of him-thanks for sharing,we are the very same, in that, we could not be without animals, and would always go that extra mile for them when they were with us ;-)and now for our wonderful girl Meesha the very same applies ;-)) thanks for sharing this uplifting story with us.

If everybody had a four-legged friend in their home, there would be peace until the end of times.
What a great story and what great people. I wish Jerry all the best and many more happy years with his family.

Unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to watch the show since I am not from the USA and don't have PBS stations.
