As a Crewe supporter, I watched him break into the team as a 17-yr old and just destroy sides. He suffered a couple of injuries before he left us and then sadly some more afterwards. For me, in his first season at Crewe, he was the best young striker I have ever seen at any level. He had a superb striking ability with either feet, was great in the air and whilst not speedy, was a clever footballer. Just so sad how his career ended up. Most Crewe fans would rate him as the best player we ever had

What a player he would of been.. this shows almost all of his qualities off, wins the header from a long ball against 2 players, gets his teammates involved and reads their touches and the layoff, strong enough to hold off the markers, quick enough to get away from a challenge, clever enough to use the skill to beat his man, and a brilliant shot into the bottom left corner without even looking at goal. Phenomenal talent that went to waste.
