MENETTES PROGRAM- PRODUCE
OF PANDORA GLASS BEADS AND
SKY LANTERN
Based on the theme of this Asia Area
Convention: "Nature + Culture =
Future", Pi-Feng Li and Li-Zhu Hsu
have been assigned to conduct a
team to do a craft course for all the
menettes during the convention.
After holding many plan and prepare
meetings of the team (especially
most of the menettes come from the
Taipei Down Town Club) during
the last twelve months, they have
decided to hold a course to produce
Pandora glass beads and sky lantern.
Pandora Glass Beads are from two
Taiwanese aboriginal tribes, Paiwan
and Rukai tribes. Glass beads are
one of the ancient products that
human being has made. There are
many different kinds of glass beads.
They all have their own meanings
and beautiful stories. It represents
the owner's tribe status, brings luck
and sometimes it uses for religious
purposes to word off the evil spirit.

Taiwanese culture that was original
from a very famous war strategist,
Zhuge Liang, he used sky lantern
to change the weather to confuse
his enemy Sima Yi and won the war
back in the Three Kingdoms period
around year 280.
In order to introduce and teach all
menettes from Taiwan and overseas
for production of the above two
products, the team spent a lot of time
to prepare the materials, tolls and
designed the methods of production.

倩聯工藝研習營
依照本次大會的主題："自然+ 文化= 未來"為基礎，由倩聯主委李壁鳳
及倩聯徐麗珠組成教學小組擔當此次大會的倩聯工藝研習課程。
該小組倩聯( 尤其是城中社) 經過一年來的多次開會及籌劃，決定在本次
大會舉辦琉璃珠及天燈的製作課程。
琉璃珠為台灣排灣族及魯凱族的傳統文物，經過幾千年的傳承，每一條琉
璃珠項鍊中的琉璃珠都有它的名子，每一個珠子都代表了一位祖先、一段
記憶或一個感人的故事。它也代表地位、財富同時也有祈福、驅魔的宗教
意義。
天燈也是台灣的傳統文化， 它源自三國時代孔明所發明， 故又稱" 孔明
燈"，當初為了傳遞軍情，利用熱氣上升原理製作成燈飛在空中，"天燈"
漸漸流傳於民間成了向上天祈求許願的媒介。
為了和國內外倩聯們介紹此台灣傳統文化與工藝品的製作，該小組花了許
多時間與精力來準備材料、設計製作方式，今天才能將此手工藝教學課程
完美的呈現於各位眼前。
