hot water and a little dawn dishwashing soap works the best .....you don't need any of these tools...especially the scoring tool. just spray and soak. don't score.

That's what I always thought, until in my new house I discovered wallpaper from the 1940's. I don't know if it's because of the adhesive used in those days, or the fact that the wallpaper has been there for 60+ years, but soaking the wallpaper wasn't enough. I needed a steamer.

great tips! the striped wall paper was horrendous. the one underneath, not so bad. but im glad you can now paper you walls with a pattern that suits your taste.
