Wise observers of business cycles have noted that the relationship between trade groups and their members are more valuable than ever during times of economic strife. We believe this to be true.

With a new administration in Washington, D.C. and continued economic challenges, the foreseeable future is sure to present us with numerous questions and opportunities.

During this climate, you can be sure that SIIA will continue to serve as your advocate around the world and we will maintain our leadership role in the global knowledge economy.


Heres a sample of our work on your behalf:
• During the past year, we actively engaged with President Obamas transition team and subsequent administration on issues affecting our industries and re-booting our economy.

• We continue to vigorously defend the intellectual property rights of our members and remain the national leader in the crusade against illegal online sales of pirated software and digital content.

• We offer a dozen leading global forums annually for our members to network and learn about innovative business solutions across the software, information, education technology, and market/reference data industries.

• We advocate aggressively in Washington, Beijing and Brussels on behalf of member companies across a broad range of critical public policy and regulatory issues.

• We recently launched the SIIA Private Equity Forum, a group representing the nations top venture capital firms dedicated to the funding and growth of young software and content companies.

We will continue to work closely with our members to be sure we provide you with the best value possible.
