Yes it is only for plugins which scatter code all over the system. Most free plugins are a stand alone DLL and do not need any of this. Also all the plugins on the SMPro website showing as compatable already have had this done so that you do not need to do it. You can try the software and how the wizards work for yourself as the VFX software is given away and will work without a hardware unit.

So this is only for VST's who write reg keys and rely on code scattered all over the system, right? If you have a self-contained VST where all necessary files are within the folder itself, would the V-Machine conversion app do all the work for you? This would be too much work to have to do to every VST we'd want to use!
Does copying the reg keys let the V-Machine know that the plug has already been authorized and not need to go through all that again somehow?
Thanks for the detailed video!
How does the first step work with the current version? It doesn't seem to create any .vfxwizard file automatically when I refuse to choose an existing one. And when I try to define the parameters myself that are already present in the default file in the video, the program crashes when I try to import that .vfxwizard file, always with some cryptic assertion failure message.
Anyway, I'm really happy with the V-Machine! Pity most plugin vendors make porting more difficult than it would need to be.

When you import with no wizard file, a file is placed in the vfxlibrary next to the plugins DLL called 'vfxinfo.txt' this is still the same. Use this file and just rename it to PlugsName.vfxwizard and follow the rest of the steps in this video. If you contact vfx support they can send more wizard commands that have been added after this video was created.
