I think I just heard that ferry horn sound in my head as the waves crash against her bow - that would be because a dream has come true...

Have you seen the movie "the house of sand and fog"?. I think it's about Maine as well and how the guy works so hard to buy a place near the ocean.

The location of my happy place changes, but it's always me with a backpack, walking down a trail somewhere in the world. Sometimes alone, sometimes not. I live in a little fishing village (more touristy now) in Narragansett Bay off the coast of New England. I can't imagine not living near an ocean.

Hey Gary,
What a cool idea (the happy place pic attached to the visor). My happy place from childhood was in the sheltering woods behind the houses across the street from us. There was this hill on the far side of the creek, with a couple of huge rocks jutting out of it. I used to love to sit there and have the "being one with nature" thing (whilst writing and producing ABC-TV Movies Of The Week in my head). To this day I still love wooded settings.
Peace To You,
DM

The Hopper "Two Lights" brings me to a happy place. And here in RI, a certain island makes me happy - Block Island - I posted a video response with some snapshot memories from a 2000 visit. and just typing this response, I am tempted to catch the Point Judith ferry to the island this weekend for a little rechargin'.

I hope you get to your happy place Brad, this was awsome. I have never really thought about my happy place but everytime a see a picture of picaddily circus it makes me feel better for some reason. I remember seeing it for for real for the first time in October last year, it was just FANTASTIC!!! I hope you feel the same way when you find yours. It looks like a really nice place.
Cant find my happy place or inner peace but glad you posted. This way i can journey to someone elses happy place loved the responses you got to your vid yay.

As loopy as it may sound, perhaps your happy place is the knowledge that others have theirs and that you can visit them instead! However and without sounding a bit like Yoda, if you search your feelings look deep enough, you'll soon arrive at yours! When you do, be sure to send a postcard! :)
