man thats pretty cool you see im from ct too and want to get out west to colorado for a diy, how would you say it is for price, like how much to drive and tags

@outdooresman75 With the price of gas going up it is hard to put a hard number on the price, we would do the trip for less then $2000 each with tags, food gas and all. The key is to not blow alot of cash on hotels and restaraunts. Good luck, I hope you get to go.

i see yyou are from ct. i'm from n.y. how long does it take to drive to say west ern montana?

From CT western Montana is about 46 hrs, made the trip many times.

Anything you want to know, I am an open book, I dont know how much you have your heart set on Montana but if you think you are somewhat flexable you may want to put in for a non-resident point for elk in Wyoming, you have untill Sept 1st and if you go that way next year you will get drawn because you have 1 point from this year. Odds in Montana are pretty slim without an outfitter.

@ctgolfer yes i have just purchased a 30 06 tikka t3 and plan on making the journey to colorado. I dont really care for bull or cow i just want some elk in the freezer. Anyway thanks and good luck out there
