  • @beriukay Anyone who reads the bible and believes it to be true can call themselves christian. No one can truly write out a list of the true definitions of a christian because no one would ever be able to agree on it. One would have to make it so outlandishly vague that it wouldn't be of any use in the first place.

  • @HannuMarijarvi He did not say that all christians believe as such and one would be a fool to do so. He merely stated that there is a group of christians in power within the government today that are using their religion as a banner through which they can abuse the powers they were given as politicians. It is akin to a cancer within the american society today, a malignant and growing force that will bring american to its knees so they can rise above everyone else.

  • Well that certainly painted a clear picture.

  • I am fired !!!!

  • @CrimsonRefractions That's a much too narrow definition of Christianity. Hundreds of millions of Christians around the world for example believe the Bible is divinely inspired not "true" in the sense of being inerrant or literally true. The current Pope for example is of this opinion, is he not a Christian?

  • @beriukay

I seem to have not made myself clear perhaps. I do not 'have' a definition of Christianity. I follow the textbook definition, the one we use in day-to-day language, therefore:

Someone who believes in christianity (e.g., the bible is true).

And the mere fact that there are droves of people who mistakenly call themselves christian, does not mean anything is wrong -except for them of course. They should invent a new label.

  • @CrimsonRefractions You have yet to show me your list of "The True Definition Of Christian". I'm not arguing that we stop having language. I'm simply saying that there's no well-thought-out definition for this thing that you so strongly advocate. Show me I'm wrong! Please!
