This conversion sucks, no excuse for it. Check my longplay for Amiga version which is much better.
Each stage needs to be loaded separately and I cut the loading. Perhaps the only reason to spend money on this was the Ocean Loader 5, but Operation Wolf also has the same loader. My friend sold me this when he got an Amiga, but I have forgiven him (mostly because he also sold me Wolf).
btw. Grenades are fired by double click.

There was a cheat for this game that allowed the player to use the hostages as human shields and suicide bombers

The C64 really was getting left behind by this stage. They should've made this for the Vic20, just to take the piss even more.

The programmers only took 2 weeks to develop this carbage on the C64 and it could have been done waaaaay better. To bad they didn't release the version that was reviewed in Zzap!64.. But the ZX Spectrum version of Operation Thunderbolt is also crap: it is practically unplayable because everything is the same color; enemies, background, grenades. And no crosshairs on all versions, which made the game impossible to play..

Damn the C64 could have done better than this,Ocean software could have also done better than this.Back then when you would see games like this you would know its time to get an Amiga.

Oh dear. This is a C64 conversion best left forgotten.Having half the screen filled with player info combined with the game's resolution doesn't help things either.
Other 8-bit conversions of the time (particularly the Amstrad CPC one) fared much better.
