3rd Parallel - "I Still Love H.E.R."

Performed February 29, 2008 at PULSE in Kresge Auditorium at MIT. We had a bit of audio difficulties at the beginning, but it all worked out in the end.

Lyrics
------

G2Z:
It was a while back when I met her, back in elementary school
When I would never pay her any attention
Eventually, I remember, when she became embedded in my life
Yes, I love her, we've struggled, but it was better
Back in middle school when we initially got together
Many nights I spent simply writing her letters
Many times I vent listening to her melody
I will not ever forget her, forever in my memory
I thought about her excessively
Especially the way that she was able to comfort me
Never fronted or was another woman in front of me
She was like the air I breathe to put it in summary
But I'm missing her now
The effects of time have brought our relationship down
The way that we argued has affected her sound
Now every time that I see her she's just a face in the crowd

pi0neer:
Always amazed me how she spoke my language so fluent,
Moved by her melodies I couldn't help swooning,
Developed this dependency, around age 10 I think,
The first times I ever heard her street corner symphonies,
Must have been symmetry, cause I she was my other half,
Though we grew apart when she moved on another path,
Couldn't help but laugh, when amateurs tried slammin her,
Wished they could do her, but they lacked the stamina,
Now the flashing cameras the back light to her life,
Used to living glamorous, enamored with the hype,
Not abandoning the fight, tho this love's a battle now,
She will always be my lady that's my vow.....

MC^2:
And Im askin her how, our love got me jonesin' like dow
Yet our relationship came down from the clouds
We goin round and round, and its like her whole essence has changed
She used to be in my domain now she demanding a range
Its kinda strange, to see her wanting to belong
She got a whole new outfit and knows whole new songs
I don't know what went wrong, she wanted attention,
Seek the wrong friendships, became relentless
To the situation I became a witness
With the quickness started to act suspicious
Went from classy, respectful, to balancing her checkbook
From reminiscing her roots then to forgetful
Sought fame, money took her away,
And wanted it so bad she even changed her name
And yet to this day even though we're apart, there's no other
She still keeps the beat in my heart, and yo I still love her

[Chorus]

MC^2:
For a while, we didn't even exchange words
Its like this whole time we didn't live in the same world
No other girl could begin to replace her
Memory scripted in ink and I couldn't erase her
Resist her I couldn't, contacted her and
We regained footing now we at it again
I was like I see the light in you, I want to write to you
All I really wanna do is just recite to you

pi0neer:
My love was blind even from the eve of our relationship,
Gave my all but sometimes it seemed she was fakin it,
And I wasn't taking it, played her to the side,
But couldn't live without her so I swallowed my pride,
When I heard she died, had a tears in my eyes,
No, that's exaggerated like rumors of her demise,
My lady's still alive always wonder when I'll see her,
Cause now she gets around, from London to Korea,
So she got Seoul, keeps it snapping in the South,
By now you should know who it is I'm rapping this about,
She's the last voice I hear before I'd go to sleep,
I just listen to her heart and enjoy the beat,

G2Z:
To re-light the flame up...
And now we're together getting our groove back like Stella
I gotta tell ya, we're gravitating, we're permanently tethered
Now I got an instrumental to go with my a cappella
And people are jealous over the realism of our connection
No question she is the best thing even with her imperfections
She is a blessing, descending directly from the heavens
About whom am I stressing? She's the essence that I live by and her name is hip hop
