  • Great tip again! It's like aiming in bowling where you look at the triangls in the middle of the lane and not at the pins itself. It makes hitting spares and the pocket a lot easier!

  • @caloyjp Great analogy! Thank you!

    Shawn

  • Hi Shawn. I am a total beginner golfer. I'm 14 and iv'e only been on a driving range once. I was wondering if you have any videos that show a complete swing

  • You bet!

All my 154 videos start with the words "Golf Pro lesson..." and then add whatever subject you want like "golf pro lesson sand" or "Golf Pro lesson Driver"; you can see a full listing on my website on the "you tube Shawn' page; Shawn

  • Hi Shawn. I've always felt very uncomfortable following the advice to keep the eyes on the ball. I feel much better (and putt better) when I either look at the hole (or the break point) for longer putts and use peripheral vision to look at the ball and the hole for shorter putts. I've never tried not looking at the ball at all, but I get your point. I wonder if this can apply to full shots?

  • This is tough on full shots as you will have an obstacle with your head going back and will not complete the backswing which is so important; but what you can do is look at a blade of grass behind the ball and then focus on the feel of the swing to the target; see "golf pro lesson eye ball" and "golf pro lesson how to repeat your practice swing" and also "golf pro lesson routine on course" to have more options; you will also love the section in my dvd that talks about blindfolded practice...

  • I really want to try this technique. but i'm afraid keeping my eye on a target will make me miss the sweet spot on my putter. What do you think Shawn?

  • This is a great technique though i have not tried yet i can tell it's a good concept, i liked the analogy in basketball because in basketball, which i also play often, i never even really think about the power much your brain tells you as you take the shot. I have been playing golf for about eight years and i am now twelve years old and over these years my putting has been my weakness and when i go to the golf course tomorrow i will keep this in mind. Thank You Shawn!

  • Wow, that is a very powerful visual. I am convinced it will work.

  • i started doing this last year and my buddies had lots of fun laughing at me...until the worst putter quickly became the best of the four of us. this year lots of questions on how it works :) Clemshaw puts it in words.....IT WORKS.

  • Have taken up golf after playing lawn bowls. Very similar concept to yourp utting video, you see the line, deliver your bowl down the line, if your weight is right then you get close to the jack! Was struggling so much with putting I came across this video and eureka! However, you HAVE to trust your stroke and ignore the negative comments. Everyone I play with tell me this is not the way to putt. I'm an improving 19 handicap and I'll keep you posted of my progress

  • Great bid shawn!

  • Wow. Hours and hours of putts on practice greens and I still couldn't putt. 6 minutes and 45 seconds, and I'm a much better putter! Awesome tip, Shawn.
