DIGIT - Virtual Communities

First of all, sorry for this horrible YouTube quality, a great part of what this project was about is gone.
I made this movie for a project called Virtual Communities, in which participants were encouraged to create an artificial planet. I focused mostly on the visual part of the planet, while other participants also created Eco-systems and organisms and sounds.
A maze of transparent walls is the main structure of the planet. Only the polygon-lines of the walls are visible, being the only material on the planet that reflects light. The planet itself is illuminated by three suns in the colors red, green and blue, resulting in a constant-shifting shade of colors among the lines.

In the movie you see an overview of the planet. I made the three suns orbit at a high speed to show the effect of the lighting. Because there are so many lines, this creates a certain effect which I thought appealing. Unfortunately, due to the uploaded quality this is not as nice as it is in full resolution.
