This is an ongoing issue with my car which appeared within the first month of ownership. I took the car in around 1,300 miles the first time and was told there was no issue. Took it back to the dealership and they acknowleged the problem at replaced the transmission at around 2,500 miles. As you can see, I'm at 4000 miles and the problem is still there. I have found occurences of this problem on other Sentras and Altimas in various online forums.
You know Nissan will buy the car back under the lemon law if you keep having this problem. I'm looking for a new car right now lol. Good thing I typed in Nissan with a google search engine. Nissan CVT problems was the second thing to come up under the search lol. There are allot of sites were people post the same problems with the Altima and Sentra. Allot of CVT problems and failure to start problems. Nissan isn't even doing anything about the problem. No recalls or anything.

Mine is a 2008/2009 model and makes exactly the same noise around the same speed. Nissan said it is normal.

yeep i got the same problem ,, well it is not actually a problem , the guys at nissan told me it s normal , and i m not the only one hearing that noise , probably because they put the trans on the driver side ,,, what bothers me is the crackling noises that makes when it runs on neutral , it s like the bearings are loose ,, i ask the guys at nissan and they suddenly had some hearing problems ,, aaa ooo noop i dont hear anything ,, funny guy
