  • I actually prefer this to the Who Are You version. Pete's vocal is more passionate I find. And hearing it without all those synths is nice, though there is still a synthesizer in it.

  • This is the most amazing thing I have ever heard.

  • @cheifguggletram glorious...my favourite version too!! ah man, there is no lyricist like Peter!! he rises above all!!

  • But is this So So different , am I doing all again , It may have well been done before but the music's an open dooooor !!

  • Sadly I think the music has changed, but it has gone far away from anything as brilliant as this demo.

  • excellent!

  • I wish I had a copy of this back in '75...these demos are great!

  • Keith had been" California Dreamin'" for nearly 3 years, without playing apart from his solo LP (even he said that he wasn't happy with it !!!!!) He actually did the Who Are You album in 10 days. Not bad for a drummer who never practised and constantly had to teach himself to play again, after long lay-offs, He was also handicapped by his size and loss of endurance. Yes Keith did have trouble outside of 4/4 , but he would have coped with anything else post "Who are You"

  • You could really tell how Petes song writing was changing and evolving. Keith Moon had much trouble getting thru the recording of this album for the Who because the rhythms had changed and he was having a harder time fitting his style to Petes ever changing songwriting.

  • Very different to the studio version, and refreshing. Though I was stunned by Roger's delivery when I first heard it, this gives us an interesting new feel.

The studio version was so unlike anything I'd heard them do before. They weren't afraid of trying something completely new.

  • after hearing this song, i didnt think music needed changing!!!!

  • Like som much of Pete's music, this is just Theatrical! It jumps out of the speakers and grabs you.
