The Magician - Pilot Part 1/9 - 1973 TV show Bill Bixby

Part 1 for the pilot of "The Magician" 1973 TV show starring Bill Bixby in the title role as Anthony Dorian. (Character name later changed for the rest of the series to Tony Blake; this due to a conflict with a real life magician namesake who voiced an objection).

TRIVIA: Johnny Haymer, who plays the club's head waiter also guest-starred in The Incredible Hulk episode "Haunted" as Mr. Lewitt, the real estate guy. He can been seen in the 1st 3min. Episode currently online:

The entire pilot is now uploaded! (It took me 1h45min just to upload these mere 8 minutes! And it pretty much disables my internet and other computer functions while it uploads. So much for latest models & high speed connection! I think youtube's constant changes now mean a super-slow upload process, unfortunately!)

Thanks SamHillFilms for all the hard work - I never really had a chance to see "The Magician" in its initial network run,except for maybe a few blurbs here and there. I will always remember Dorian/ Blake spray-painting the windshield of the bad guy's car. Cool show! Too bad that some network ninny decided to tinker with it.

It was a great show until they producers did a mid-season format change.

Some genius ruined it, it lost viewer momentum and was canceled.

It could work again with the correct format and principal actors.

A hell of a good show the first half of it' s run.

I always loved this series when it was on and hated it when the network cancelled it. They don't know what they had. Bill Bixby was one of the best actors of the time. Thank you for sharing this!

Anytime :) I understand completely, it's rough getting these vids up like this, especially when you have to do it all yourself from the get-go. My Star Trek and Transformers motion capture stuff was brutal, but I would say me doing the project itself as my own creative talents was even more tiring of course. ;)
