I think that the Theremin could be considered the first synthesizer ever made. I mean It was the first electronic instrument and you don't use strings to play it so in effect it does synthesize..

@BigCrashNoSmash I forgot to mention that he's also using effects pedals... otherwise it'd just be a 1 Dimensional sound. So props for that at least.

if played right this could impersonate the best metal guitar solo ever! alas this is not so with this video. I'd hate to say it but if I had a theremin I probably could make it perform like this after just figuring it out for the first time. Now if this is actually written and memorized and he can play this over "note" for "note" like most performances pieces THEN I'll give him mass props.
