Here I am again, tackling the Playstation. This time, we're playing a rare game...in my eyes at least. Incase you didn't know, the original Snowboard Kids was re-released for the PS1, with the name of "Snobow Kids Plus." Obviously, the "Plus" tells us that the game got upgraded from the N64, but by how much?

Also, every time I record from the Playstation, there seems to be one small part that gets choppy...try to ignore it.
Anyway, I have plenty to talk about this game, but maybe we can save it for another time. In the meantime, I just decided to give you a video of this game, so you can try comparing to the original 64 version. This actually came out 1 month before the sequel.

I hardly understand anything Japanese, but it's easy to get through this game if you know the menu options from the US version.

(Can you believe the original movie file for this was 26 GIGABYTES?!)

  • like if you got here from smosh!!

  • @zickstick I don't get it. Why Smosh?

  • I think the characters and courses got great detailing with the "plus", but the gameplay seems a bit worse than the first one. i think the second one fixed most of the issues people had with the first one (way more difficult, for sure) and the ds just ran the re-vamp into the ground.

who wants to play snowboard kids without the big noses? without the pseudo-techno beats? without golden/silver pans!?

  • @uthunderilightning I'm all up for opinions.

While you don't even NEED to play SBK DS to know how terrible it is, I'd give Snobow Kids Plus a try, to say the least, to get your own better view on it.

  • This makes me sad. Probably cause I was brought up with the N64 version.

  • like even the objects on the screen take time to show up and all you see is the background at points, the 64 version did not even have this problem which i consider kinda big

  • the game textures LOOK A LOOOOT worse. no comparison with 64 version

  • i played this when i was 7 :D

    GOOD TIMES.......

  • God damn, I didn't even know about this until now, and I loved the first one on the N64. Going to give this a try soon. Thanks.

  • I remember I used to play it on n64

  • This is nothing compared to the N64 version, not intense, music is lacking BASS, for pete's sake, which added more intensity and heat when competing with other friends.
