If you install from a usb stick instead of a (slow) dvd you will have an even quicker install

I have a 8GB flashdrive formatted with Windows 7 so i can load it as fast as possible... takes about 15 min, give or take. When i get my SSD, im going to time the installation :)

Hi, I have the same Intel X25-M Postville and have installed Windows 7 RC as well.
I couldn't be any happier with it.
Only swapped recently to an old HDD and installed Windows 7 as well. Only after you have used an SSD for a while and go back to a conventional HDD you notice a difference like going back to stone age.
I still have a 1 TB HDD for data storage only but never ever for an OS.
SSD rocks.

These 15% space left for better performance is nothing but a rumor. No proven or measurable performance gain. You should even pre-partition your drvive prior installation to full 80gb to prevent win7 from creating this unneccecary 100mb partition as well. (it will relocate the bootmanager to the win7 partition)

That is not true. Some testing has been done to find out if the technique that is used on X25-E drives that have extra non-formattable memory to prevent preformance degradation, is also applicable on the X25-M by underpartitioning this drive.
The conclusion was that this method works on all ssd's.
You will only measure differences when the drive is almost full.
